ASUCLA Marketing initiatives awarded with international recognition
Officially announced on Jan. 21, ASUCLA Marketing received two prestigious awards for the categories of Social Media Marketing and Online Advertising and Marketing.
Los Angeles, Calif., Feb. 4, 2025 – The Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) Marketing department received recognition from the Summit International Awards (SIA) organization for its marketing effectiveness in social media and online advertising. In a competition featuring over 1,500 entries from 10 countries, being honored with the Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award reflects the global significance of the Association.
“Being honored with these two Marketing Effectiveness Awards (MEA) reflects the wonderful team’s hard work and steadfast efforts to inform and support the larger Bruin community,” said Ari Baron, director of ASUCLA Marketing and Sales Promotions. “The achievements, recognized by the Summit International Awards, stand as a testament of our strive for excellence in marketing, further reflecting ASUCLA’s greater mission and vision. We are honored for this recognition and inspired to continue innovating the way we connect with our audiences.”
Marketing was honored with a platinum award in the category of Social Media Marketing for the Flour Donuts ASUCLA Instagram Reel shared on Jan. 24, 2024, reestablishing the success of the marketing initiative. The award recognizes the success of the Reel, as it resulted in the highest engaged ASUCLA Instagram post to date and led to the weekly sell-out of the highly sought-out Korean-Style donuts in early 2024.
Marketing was further recognized in the Online Advertising and Marketing category, earning a silver award. The award acknowledges the success of the 2023 UCLA // lululemon on-campus brand experience. Through ASUCLA Marketing's online outreach and advertising efforts through social media and email marketing, the try-on experience capped the maximum attendance of 1,000 students in line by 8 a.m. on Sept. 29, 2023, some showing up as early as midnight to secure their spot.
“The MEA winners are carefully evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, composed of experts with extensive industry experience,” stated Jocelyn Luciano, Principal/Managing Director of Summit Awards. “These awards highlight marketing initiatives that embody creativity, strategy, and measurable impact, making them a true benchmark of success.”
