Start of football season
The new 2024 football season begins for the UCLA team on Aug. 31. With new changes to the team and new additions to the coaching staff of the UCLA football team, there is much to look forward to at the start of the 2024 season. Keep reading to learn more about the new coaches and the first few games.
There is a mix of familiar faces and new players getting ready to play on the Bruin team this year, including 30 r-seniors/seniors finishing out on the UCLA football team, as well as 27 r-freshmen/freshmen starting this season. Alongside the players is the coaching staff guiding them into the new season. The new head coach of the UCLA football team is UCLA alumnus DeShaun Foster. The players are not the only ones seeing adjustments made for this season: Foster and several other assistant football coaches are going into the season in new positions. The UCLA football team starts their season away, against Hawai’i on Aug. 31 in Honolulu. However, the Bruin community can look forward to the following game on Sept. 14, as it will be the first home game at the Rose Bowl and the first Big Ten game.
